What's New in XEvil 2.0 Beta 7
-
UNIX hi-resolution mode with all new bitmaps, but still with the option
to run in low-resolution mode for slow machines.
-
New hi-resolution bitmaps for Ninja(thanks Comrade.Cid), Alien(thanks Peter
Arsoff), Dragon(thanks Anthony Davis) and others.
-
New "themes", graphics for the world (thanks to Matthew Dey and Frank Wu).
-
New background music (thanks Butterpuppy Productions and D.J. Litany),
as MIDI files. Got rid of the hacked-in repeating snippets of music
that we had before.
-
New enemy character, the "Yeti" (thanks to Michael Davidson).
-
Windows download is 300K smaller that Beta 6. Beta 7 is 800K compressed,
it can actually fit on a floppy! We're using more efficient ways
of storing graphics and sound.
-
Faster graphics initialization at startup. Auto key-repeat for UNIX.
You can now hold down keys instead of tapping incessantly until your carpal
tunnel flares up.
-
New "blessings" from the Altar of Sin. I won't spoil the surprise.
-
First Beta release with full source code, UNIX and Windows.
-
You can get bonus items and powers for beating difficult scenarios.
I won't spoil it too much, but hint, hint, think "Auto-Lancer" and "Demon-Summoner".
-
Simple chat functionality for Network play. You can send chat messages
back and forth to other players in your game.
