Version Control

Stable Version

The Stable Version of the XEvil source is the source corresponding to the most recent XEvil beta or final release.  It is tested and guaranteed to build on both Windows and UNIX.

The Stable Version is distributed as a zip file named "xevilsrcXXX.zip" where XXX is the name of the release corresponding to the zip file, e.g. "xevilsrc2.0b7.zip" corresponds to XEvil 2.0 beta 7.

Developer's Version

The Developer's Version of the XEvil source is the most recent, bleeding-edge code.  It contains the most up-to-date code publicly available.  However, it is not rigorously tested, and features may be only halfway completed or not working at all.  This version is also known as the "unstable" version.  Although I'll try to post code that compiles and runs on both UNIX and Windows, I can't promise it.  (If it is broken, please mail Satan, and we'll fix it.)

The Developer's Version is distributed as a zip file named "xevilsrcMMDDYY.zip", where MM, DD, and YY are the month, day, and year when the zip file was made, e.g. "xevilsrc100698.zip" for Oct. 6, 1998.
