Notes:
Result of early Terran cybernetics experimentation. Chief Scientist
Stephen Healy, Ph.D., a genius in a crippled body, volunteered as the first
subject for his project, the Astragalus scout/light-battle cyborg.
Project was an unqualified success, organic and robotics functioning at
97.32% of projected capacity, completed with only minor schedule and budget
overruns.
Walker was designed to operate in environments traditionally restricted
to human troops. Smaller than standard battle droids, Walker can
penetrate enemy buildings, encampments, and vehicles. The human brain,
augmented with memory and processor enhancements, provides comprehensive
decision-making and problem-solving abilities significantly greater and
more fault-tolerant than the state of the art in artificial intelligence.
Robotic body is lightly armored, with built in weaponry. Short-range
manipulator beams allow use of weapons and items desiged for human use.
Immune to all known biological and chemical weaponry. Estimated lifespan,
750 yrs before deterioration of biological components. |
